Over the years, the Abbazia Santa Maria del Bosco has been the location of countless films, from Michael Cimino’s The Sicilian (1987), starring Christopher Lambert and John Turturro, to Francesco Rosi’s The Palermo Connection (1990), starring Jim Belushi and Mimi Rogers, and
Marco Bellocchio’s Il regista di matrimoni (2006), with Sergio Castellitto and Donatella Finocchiaro.
The Abbey was recently chosen for the production of the Belgian program “De Mol” and the latest productions by Ficarra and Picone in 2022 “Incastrati” for Netflix and in 2024 “L’Abbaglio” with Toni Servillo.
